Dyslexia Tutor (Virtual - Independent Contractor)
Outstanding opportunity to work with our dedicated, energetic, student-centered team of specialized educators by providing Zoom-based dyslexia tutoring using the Barton Reading and Spelling System from your home and on your schedule subject only to student availability.

Responsibilities

Meet with students twice a week on Zoom for 50 minute sessions to implement The Barton Reading and Spelling System with fidelity.

Develop lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and are appropriate to the student’s pace.

Draft weekly lesson notes briefly summarizing student progress and content covered.

Communicate with parents and/or students as needed about progress and scheduling.
Qualifications

Certified or experienced in The Barton Reading and Spelling System or other Orton-Gillingham based program

Access to Whizzimo and Barton/ OG materials

Minimum of 2 years working with students in an educational setting (dyslexia/ special education preferred)

Reliable internet access and a computer, a Zoom Pro or Business account

Ability to write and speak clearly

Strong organizational skills and problem solving ability
The successful candidate also must be patient and be able to motivate and encourage students and adapt to their learning needs.
Flexible Work Hours. As an independent contractor, you will receive a 1099 and set your own work schedule.
To support our students, you must be available for at least four hours per week (breaks and holidays are worked into the schedule).
